Stick your Capcatcher right to the door of your refrigerator, so it's close to the source! All our Capcatcher Bottle Openers are available with a Mega-Magnet on the back, so they hold securely to any magnetically responsive surface...even while you open your beer! Everything you always wanted to know about the
Capcatcher Magnet (but were afraid to ask)
The magnet on your Capcatcher is no ordinary magnet…it is a high energy Oriented Barium Ferrite Magnet that is specifically manufactured for use on your Capcatcher Bottle Opener. With it’s high “MgOe” (the measurement of magnetic energy), this is definitely not your grandmother’s old wimpy refrigerator magnet.
Capcatchers Magnets are engineered to resist shear forces or sliding, but will come off the metal surface relatively easily if pulled straight away. The Proof is in the Pudding: these babies really hold to a refrigerator when you open a bottle but can be easily removed for emptying.
The strong pressure-sensitive adhesive that holds the magnet to your Capcatcher is “thermo-plastic”-we bake it on to permanently bond the magnet to the wood. However, this also means that mounting your Capcatcher to a hot surface such as a stove or grill can weaken the bond we worked so hard to create. A Rule of Thumb: if a surface is a little too hot for your hand, it is a little too hot for your Capcatcher.
This is a serious magnet! Do not place your Capcatcher Bottle Opener within one foot of computers, magnetic recording tape, or other magnetically encoded surfaces such as credit cards. Pacemaker/defibrillator owners should not hold the Capcatcher Bottle Opener ‘close to the vest.’ Magnetic compasses in close proximity to your Capcatcher Bottle Opener may require recalibration.
It is common for people to be a little skeptical about whether or not these magnets are strong enough to actually hold when you pop a cold one. But we think that you will become a believer as soon as you try your Magnetic Capcatchers.
